about existé magazine

For Vaani and Jae, literature has played a vital role in their self-exploration, expression, and empowerment. Writing was a medium by which they could share their thoughts and feelings—the ones that society shunned. In fact, their passion for the art sparked because they found freedom in words.

Yet, with age, Vaani and Jae saw how society imposed narrow definitions of “serious literature,” strangling the creative pursuits of artists. They felt that this was antithetical to the very nature of art.

Determined to challenge this, they envisioned a space where they could reconnect with the aspect of literature they fell in love with so long ago—a space where expectations weren’t as stringent, and experimentation was encouraged.

existé magazine strives to break boundaries traditional society has forced artists to mold into. Our tagline, “a literary playground,” encapsulates our mission to foster endless creativity, play, and exploration in the realm of literature. At existé, artists can rediscover the freedom that led them to create in the first place.
